- This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 30th August 2018 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website ;
- The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Water and Environment has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Strategic Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Kayunga- Busana Water Supply and Sanitation System (Phase II) ;
- The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Construction of Kayunga- Busana Water Supply and Sanitation System (Phase II) or execution of the works described below :
- Major expansion of a conventional water treatment plant of 10,277m3/day minimum production capacity including all associated electrical and mechanical works ;
- Supply, laying and commissioning of 26km of DN 110mm – 500mm ductile iron/uPVC water transmission mains pipelines ;
- Excavation and proper compaction in embankments of at least 12, 000m3 of earthworks ;
- Supply, installation and commissioning of pressed galvanized steel sectional tanks of at least 500m3 capacity.
- Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of Procurement and Disposal Unit, Ground Floor, Ministry of Water and Environment, Plot 3-7 Kabalega Crescent, Luzira ;
- A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 100,000/= (One Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings) ;
- The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works ;
- Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00am on 11th March 2020 and must be accompanied by a security of USD 120,000/= (United States Dollars One Hundred Twenty Thousand) ;
- Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11:15am 0n 11th March 2020 at the offices of Procurement and Disposal Unit,
Ground Floor, Ministry of Water and Environment, Plot 3-7 Kabalega Crescent, Luzira.
