GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
MULTINATIONAL : (TANZANIA/KENYA), BAGAMOYO – HOROHORO/LUNGALUNGA – MALINDI ROAD PROJECT (PHASE I)
- The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the Africa Development Fund (ADF) to finance Multinational: (Tanzania/Kenya), Bagamoyo – Horohoro/Lungalunga – Malindi Road Project (Phase 1) ;
- The principal objectives of this project are to promote trade and regional integration and to contribute to the countries’ social and economic development, poverty reduction efforts and enhancing tourism by providing improved transport infrastructure. The specific objective of the project is to improve road transport services between Kenya and Tanzania by reducing travel time, vehicle operating cost, decreasing traffic congestion, and improving safety in the urban sections along the project road ;
- The project includes the following components on Tanzania side : Road Construction Civil Works and Supervision of Works A.1: Road Construction Civil Works
This sub-component includes :
- Upgrading of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) Road to Bitumen standard, Lot 2: Construction of Pangani Bridge (525 m span) including upgrading of approach Road (14.3 Km), Ushongo Spur Road (5.9 km) and Pangani Access Road (5.4 Km) ; and
- Upgrading of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) Road to Bitumen standard, Lot 3: Mkange – Mkwaja – Tungamaa Section (95.20 Km) including Kipumbwi Spur Road (3.7 Km).
A.2 : Consulting Services for Supervision of Civil Works :
This sub-component includes :
- Consultancy Services for Supervision of Upgrading of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) Road to Bitumen standard, Lot 2: Construction of Pangani Bridge (525 m span) including upgrading of approach Road (14.3 Km), Ushongo Spur Road (5.9 Km) and Pangani Access Road (5.4 Km); and
- Consultancy Services for Supervision of Upgrading of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) Road to Bitumen standard, Lot 3: Mkange – Mkwaja – Tungamaa Section (95.20 Km) including Kipumbwi Spur Road (3.7 Km).
Goods
This sub-component includes :
- Supply of two (2) Ambulances ; and
- Supply of one (1) X- Ray Machine.
Institutional Support and Capacity building :
This component includes :
- Training of Unemployed Youth ; and
- Preparatory studies for Pipeline projects.
Project Management :
This component includes :
- Consultancy Services for Baseline Data Collection, ESMP Monitoring and Sensitization of HIV/AIDS, STI, TB Mitigation and Gender Issues for Upgrading of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) to Bitumen standard ;
- Consultancy Services for Technical Audit for Upgrading Works of Makange – Tungamaa – Pangani Bridge (120.8 Km) to Bitumen standard ;
- Consultancy Services for Training of Unemployed Youth ;
- Consultancy Services for Road Safety Audit and Black Spots Identification ;
- Consultancy Services for Feasibility/ESIA/Detailed Engineering Design of Kihansi – Taweta – Madeke – Lupembe – Kibena Road (223 Km) ;
- Consultancy Services for Trade and Transport Facilitation in the Corridor ; and
- Financial Audit Services.
- Procurement will be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015, which are available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Solicitation documents are expected to be available in February 2020 ;
