REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

(CONSULTING SERVICES-FIRMS SELECTION)

Assignment Title :  Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, Tender Documentation, ESIA & Connection Strategy for Nairobi Inclusive Sanitation Improvement Project’

Contract No. AWWDA/AWF/NISIP/CS-01/2019

1. The Government of the Republic of Kenya has applied for a grant from the Africa Water Facility (AWF) which is hosted and administered by the African Development Bank(AfDB) towards the cost of the ‘Nairobi Inclusive Sanitation Improvement Project Studies’ and intends to apply the amount for this grant to payments under the contract for ‘Consultancy Services for the Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, Tender Documentation, ESIA & Connection Strategy for Nairobi Inclusive Sanitation Improvement Project’ ;
2. The specific objectives of the consultancy assignment are to conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed designs for provision of sustainable access to faecal sludge and sewage management infrastructure and services in selected peri-urban and informal settlements in Nairobi ;
3. The scope of services for the Consultant will include but not limited to: (i) Preparation of Feasibility Study, Conceptual and Preliminary Design, (ii) Preparation of Detailed Design and Tender Documentation; Cost Benefit Analyses; Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (including Cumulative Impact Assessment) and Resettlement Action Plan; (iii) Development of a Connection Strategy and Manuals to facilitate access to effective Citywide Inclusive Sanitation. The consultancy services will be carried out over a period of 18 Months ;
4. Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification ;
5. Further information can be obtained at the address below during office hours from 0800 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour (1300 to 1400Hrs) and public holidays ;
6. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org ;
7. Expressions of interest must be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person, or by mail, or by fax, or by e-mail) by close of business on 10^th December 2019. Those submitted by package should be clearly marked “Request for Expression of Interest for Consultancy Services for the Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, Tender Documentation, and ESIA & Connection Strategy for Nairobi Inclusive Sanitation Improvement Project’.
