REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

FOR HIV/AIDS, STIs, GENDER, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH, ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS AND SENSITIZATION CONSULTANCY SERVICES

1. This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in United Nations Development Business No. AfDB-P454805-01/20 of 16^th January 2020 and African Development Bank (AfDB) internet website on 20^th December, 2019 ;
2. The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and African Development Fund (ADF), and a grant from the European Union (EU) to finance the Multinational: Bagamoyo – Horohoro/ Lunga Lunga – Malindi Road Phase I: Mombasa – Mtwapa – Kilifi (A7) Road Section, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this loan to make eligible payments under the contract for the Consultancy Services for HIV/AIDS, STIs, Gender, Reproductive Health, Road Safety Awareness and Sensitization ;
3. The Services include;: (i) to integrate HIV/AIDS, STIs prevention and gender mainstreaming in the road project through enhancing capacity of the, supervisors, management staff and the local communities to address STIs, HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Health issues and gender empowerment.(ii) To sensitize the local communities, road construction workers, transporters and other road users on road safety and create road safety awareness amongst the different stakeholders using the road and (iii) to ensure that the local communities and road construction workers are safeguarded from being susceptible to HIV/AIDS and STI infections, gender based abuses and road accidents as a result of the road project ;
4. The Kenya National Highways Authority, herein referred to as the Client being an authorized agent of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites eligible Consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the above services ;
5. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments in similar conditions and Availability of the appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications ;
6. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short – list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s ‘Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations’ – August, 2015, which is available in the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest ;
7. Expression of interest must be delivered in written form and clearly marked with the assignment Tender number and deposited in the Tender Box at the following address ;
