Expressions of interest are requested for Two Individual Consultant Positions
- The African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: “Quality Assurance and Learning Specialist” ;
- The objective of the consultancy is to support development of the Operations Academy by designing and reviewing the content of e-learning courses. Specific duties and responsibilities are outlined hereunder :
- Contribute to the development of curricula and training materials related to Bank operations ;
- Design content for online courses for the Operations Academy (PPT, narratives, translation, etc.) based on existing Bank strategies, policies and practices ;
- Coordinate the development of multimedia materials and/or narratives for presentations ;
- Assist in liaising with operations and non-operations departments for the purpose of developing and delivering online training ;
- Contribute to operational analytical work produced by the division as well as knowledge dissemination activities ;
- Undertake any other tasks/assignments as assigned by the Manager SNOQ.2.
- Essential skills/Competencies :
- Hold at least a Master’s degree in business administration, economics, development studies or related disciplines ;
- Minimum of five years proven relevant work experience in development cooperation gained in an International Organization including experience related to project design, development issues and delivery of training materials ;
- Knowledge and practice of operational policies, procedures, and review processes of multilateral development banks or other development agencies ;
- Experience as trainer, facilitator or instructor for workshops and learning events ;
- Experience with e-learning development ;
- Familiarity with and practical experience of results-based management and/or quality assurance ;
- Experience in communication or learning campaigns would be an advantage ;
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills ;
- Fluency in English or French, with working knowledge of the other language
- The Operations Committee Secretariat & Quality Assurance Department (SNOQ) invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (CV, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.) ;
- The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedures shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist ;
- The estimated duration of services is twelve (12) months and the estimated starting date is 01 January 2020 ;
- Interested Individual Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during the Bank’s working hours: from 08:00 to 17:00 hours, Abidjan Local Time ;
- Expressions of interest must be received by email at the address below no later than Tuesday 19 November 2019 at 17:00 hours, Abidjan local time and specifically mentioning “Quality Assurance and Learning Specialist”.

- Establishment of the short list :
A shortlist of six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume.
