Request for expressions of interest for Blended Finance and Partnerships Consultant for a Nigeria-focused Private Equity Vehicle (the “Assignment”)- Abidjan – Cote d’Ivoire

The African Development Bank (the AfDB or the “Bank”) herby invites individual consultants to express their interest in the following assignment: Blended Finance and Partnerships Consultant for a Nigeria-focused Private Equity Vehicle (the “Assignment”).
The consultant selected for the Assignment (the “Consultant”) will be expected to coordinate, draft and finalize funding proposals to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the European Union (EU), as well as other development partners, donors and institutions for the purposes of securing financing for a proposed investment vehicle in Nigeria that will undertake primarily equity investments in the country’s sustainable energy space (i.e. renewables-based off-grid, mini-grid and IPP solutions) (the “Fund”). The Consultant will also be expected to assist the Bank on internal processing matters concerning the Bank’s potential investment in the Fund, as well as on other matters concerning the Fund’s partnerships strategy and fundraising efforts.
The Energy Financial Solutions, Policy and Regulation (PESR) Department of the Bank now invites eligible individual consultants to express their interest in undertaking the Assignment. Interested individuals must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services envisaged under the Assignment (documents referencing past relevant experience, etc.).
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the shortlist and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the “Rules and Procedures for the Use of Consultants”. Please note that interest expressed by an individual does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include the individual in the shortlist.
Please also be informed that the Bank has applied for a grant from the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) to fund this Assignment and the award of the contract will be subject to approval of the grant by SEFA. This recruitment process therefore does not commit the Bank to award a contract to the successful bidder.
The expected duration of the Assignment is 6 months. The Commencement Date is anticipated as 2 September 2019.
