The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Bank towards implementation of the Economic Diversification Support Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for consultancy services for Development of Entrepreneurship Curriculum in Lesotho.

The overall objective of this consultancy is to develop a new entrepreneurship curriculum by reviewing the existing basic education schools’ curriculum to integrate entrepreneurship education in consultation with relevant stakeholders, and to build the capacity of teachers to enable successful adoption of the new curriculum within the education system of Lesotho. Specifically, the consultancy firm will review the current schools’ curriculum to identify gaps or shortcomings with regard to coverage or development of entrepreneurship skills; develop entrepreneurship curriculum, starting from basic education showing clear exit level outcomes at each crucial stage; develop teaching and learning materials to be used by both teachers and students; develop comprehensive trainer’s manual to be used to build the capacity of teachers, showing learning objectives and learning path; make recommendations on how best the curriculum can be delivered including recommendations about the most effective training strategies, methodologies and tools, and conduct training of teacher trainers’ workshops on the implementation of the new curricula.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (including brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification. In such cases of associations/ consortiums, EOI submissions should clearly identify one lead firm that would take up the primary responsibility of assignment delivery.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy and Methodology for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
