Description :

  1. The African Development Bank hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: “Improving the Trade Facilitation Environment in Eastern Africa through Knowledge Generation and Capacity Building”.
  2. The services to be provided under the Assignment include: Comprehensive studies that assess the current state of logistics and trade facilitation along one of the trade corridors in Eastern Africa, identification of the major impediments in the business environment policy and regulatory frameworks affecting trade and investment along the corridor, diagnosis of the technical, human and financial capacities of business support organizations in the targeted countries, support in the dissemination of findings from the study reports to relevant stakeholders, Design and support in undertaking Export development training for SMEs to enhance their Export capacity and entrepreneurship skills, undertake knowledge sharing training on trade facilitation and business environment reforms to improve SMEs’ competitiveness and their participation in cross border trade Value Chains, as well as Development of the IGAD Trade policy. The services are provided to the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) and the Intergovernmental Agency on Development (IGAD), and requires close collaboration and working relationships with them. The services are to be provided over 36 months.
  3. The Eastern Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office (RDGE) invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable Assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.).
  4. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants under projects financed by the Bank Group, May 2008 Edition, revised on July 2012available on the Bank Website at http://www.afdb.org. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist.
  5. The estimated duration of services is for about 260 days over a period of 36 months and the estimated starting date is August 1, 2019.
  6. Interested Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during the Bank’s working hours from 09:00 to 17:00 hours.
  7. Expressions of interest must be received at the address below no later than June 20th, 2019, at 17:00 and specifically mentioning ‘Improving the Trade Facilitation Environment in Eastern Africa through Knowledge Generation and Capacity Building’.
