Stores Officer-III – Garowe, Puntland
The position holder will implement effective stores management systems in adherence with policy and procedure. The incumbent will maintain tracking tools to help monitor stores levels, particularly medical warehouse. The position holder will ensure quality control in the storage of medical goods.
Major Responsibilities:
Stores Management :
- Ensure maintenance of stocks at optimum levels consistent with organizational requirements ;
- Prepare and distribute bi-weekly reports, showing goods received /dispatched and the movement of commodities ;
- Maintaining an efficient and updated filling system for effective stores and warehouse management ;
- Ensure deliveries received in stores and maintained inventory is in conformity with the required specifications.
Quality Control :
- Ensure that all outgoing commodities have been authorized by appropriate management staff as per existing policy and procedure ;
- Proactively advise management with regards to the status of supplies (e.g. spoilage of food and/medical supplies) ;
- Determine the consumption rates of all the health facilities for the project manager for the procurement of medicines ;
- Ensure effective management of medical and the nutrition supplies in liaison with the pharmacy staff ;
- Ensure quality of medicines is maintained while in the store as per the medical guidelines for storage ;
- Supervise and support health facilities in Nugal region supported by World vision ;
- Issue medicines according to the order from the health facilities on quarterly basis ;
- Provide regular monthly and a quarterly supplies report to UNICEF.
Minimum Qualification :
- A Bachelor degree in pharmacy, medical records management, health systems or related field of study ;
- Experience in health supplies management, procurement, logistics or supply chain management is preferred ;
- Should have a minimum of 3 experience working in a similar role ;
- Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, good communication skills, both verbal and written ;
- Should be a team player, well organized with attention to details ;
- Should demonstrate experience managing electronic and physical filing systems ;
- Should demonstrate good computer skills especially working with Excel ;
- Demonstrates good understanding of projects management in a humanitarian setting.
Working Environment / Conditions :
Office-based with frequent travel to field locations
