Mechanical Trainer, Coach Assessor – 28 x 28 – West Africa
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Trainer, Coach Assessor to work on a 28×28 rotation based in West Africa.
The purpose of this position is to support the development of candidates in reaching a competent Sr. Mechanical Technician level through training, coaching and assessing competence according to the agreed-upon staff development program managed by the Training and development section. In addition, the position is also responsible to provide input in verifying and reporting the competence levels of experienced Mechanical Maintenance Personnel.
Accountabilities
- Implementation of the Mechanical Technician Program
- Assist in the development of training and assessment plans;
- Develop, update and deliver training materials and assessment modules;
- Provide mentoring, coaching, non-formal on the job training and formal training when necessary to all National maintenance mechanical technicians;
- Coordinate the mechanical maintenance training
- Material and training records in various formats including digital, hard copy, and e-learning into appropriate locations for publishing, use and storage;
- Deliver Knowledge Based Training (KBT) or classroom training;
- Ensure competence recording tool is populated with all data from training’s and assessments conducted; identify competency gaps that require intervention and
- liaise with appropriate individuals for implementation.
- Conducting on-going competency assessments standards both in the classroom and in the field.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Mechanical Maintenance Personnel progression scheme and succession plan.
- Provide inputs in the formulation of the Mechanical Maintenance PPAP targets and process.
- Assist in the verification and maintaining competency of experienced Mechanical Maintenance Personnel whom shall initially maintain facility in a safe, reliable and efficient manner:
- Develop and deliver competency verification programs.
- Ensure competence verification recording tool is populated with all data from assessments conducted.
- Ensure competency gaps are identified and closed.

- Knowledge in mechanical equipment principles of operation
- Knowledge in maintaining, repair and trouble-shooting mechanical equipment problems and malfunctions
- Knowledge in mechanical tools and equipment safe use and handling
- Knowledge in relevant technical drawings and document reading and interpretation
- Knowledge in Maintenance – Mechanical technical and safety procedure development, implementation and performance
