Contract Type : Unaccompanied Fixed Term International Contract

Context :

This is a 12 month replacement role with unaccompanied terms based in Cox’s Bazar with an annual salary of Grade 4, €40,003 – €44,449.

You will report to the Emergency Director and will line manage Nutrition Program Manager, Nutrition Expert and Project Coordinators of nutrition sensitive projects and work closely with Department Heads for mutual support.

Your purpose :

The Nutrition Advisor is responsible for providing technical direction to the ongoing emergency nutrition response in order to deliver high quality project activities, which impact on the lives of Rohingya Refugees and results in lasting positive change.

 

You will be responsible for :

Providing technical representation, coordination and leadership to the activities of the Nutrition Sector and the associated working groups including, but not limited to :

  • Providing leadership to the CMAM Working Group in Cox’s Bazar in order to coordinate and support activities of partners in the response ;
  • Leading on development of tools, guidance notes, response plans, and other initiatives of the sector and working groups ;
  • Contributing significantly to the other working groups, especially the IYCF-E Working Group, Assessment Working Group and the overall Nutrition Sector ;
  • Participating and contributing to related sectors and working groups, especially health, food security and livelihoods and MHPSS, as well as others.

Ensuring the Nutrition in Emergency Project strategy is delivered with maximum efficiency, quality, and professionalism to bring a positive change to the lives of the beneficiaries in Cox’s Bazar through providing strategic guidance including, but not limited to :

  • Providing overall leadership, strategic guidance and technical advice to the emergency nutrition programme ;
  • Ensuring the Project Implementation plan is developed jointly with donors/partners and delivered timely and effectively to ensure sustainability of the project interventions beyond project end ;
  • Facilitating effective coordination and joint planning between all stakeholders towards achieving the  objectives ;
  • Ensuring quality and timely reporting through development of monitoring tools and systems ;
  • Tracking and analysing information related to the overall health and nutrition situation for planning purposes.

Developing the capacity of the Nutrition in Emergency Project team to deliver high quality support that would be a force to tackle poverty. Including, but not limited to :

  • Ensuring that staff are adequately trained and developed for their roles e.g. by analysing staff training needs, organising the delivery of training or coaching, providing training, and coordinating the sharing of experience, with a focus on CMAM and IYCF-E ;
  • Ensuring work is planned and organised in a way which will meet the needs of beneficiaries in the most cost effective manner possible.

Ensuring that the necessary resources are available for the project and utilised effectively to implement high quality project for bringing positive change in the life of beneficiaries. Including, but not limited to :

  • Leading the development of for nutrition and nutrition sensitive proposals, concept notes, and budgets ;
  • Support proposal development for other sectors where we can add a nutrition lens ;
  • Ensuring budgets and financial resource planning are in place for all activities within the project ;
  • Ensuring that the project delivers high quality reports with agreed time line and format to demonstrate the project result.

As a member of the Rohingya Response Senior Management Team and the country office Extended Management Team (Dhaka EMT) work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure advocacy, mainstreaming, M&E and excellence within Concern’s work. Including, but not limited to :

  • Participating actively in team planning and other meetings, working to set common objectives and goals and striving to ensure these are successfully achieved ;
  • Ensuring the participation in relevant committees within project areas that could contribute to bring effective result at project level and at programme level ;
  • Developing the project M&E system and reviewing progress in a systematic way for visualizing the project progress and taking action ;
  • Ensuring the best practices are captured, documented and disseminated at project level and programme level.  Ensuring implementation of an appropriate advocacy strategy for the project in consultation with Advocacy Team and project stakeholders ;
  • Deputising for the Emergency Director in their absence from the project area

 

 Your skills and experience will include :

 Essential :

  • Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Public Health Nutrition or clinical degree with MPH ;
  • 5 years’ experience in the nutrition field with minimum 3 years working internationally in technical and management in the nutrition sector ;
  • Significant experience in Nutrition programme design and a successful track record in proposal development and resource mobilisation ;
  • Good knowledge of Project Cycle Management (PCM) for nutrition programmes ;
  • Experience in implementing nutrition interventions in development and emergency contexts especially with refugee populations ;
  • Experience in managing donors and working with government institutions ;
  • Good communication skills ;
  • Experience in multi-tasking, networking and coordination ;
  • Flexible, able to adapt and to work under stress.

Desirable : Experience working in Asia or Bangladesh
