DRC :

Starting with mine action in 1999 in Somaliland, DDG has expanded programming throughout the region. The RSGC reports to the DDG Regional Head of Programme and will work closely with the Regional Conflict Analysis Coordinator, and other regional technical coordinators to technically support the development and implementation of high quality AVR projects and programmes across the region.
While the context in these areas differs on many fronts, there are several commonalities which include weak social cohesion, inter-ethnic tensions, presence of armed non-state actors, weak capacity of the state and moderate to high levels of armed violence and insecurity. DDG’s programmatic response focus on promoting more human rights compliant and community sensitive security provision (security governance) and on supporting local efforts to manage inter-group conflicts.
