Mechanical Service Engineer – South Africa (Hydropower)
My client is a recognised leader in Hydropower manufacturing worldwide. They are seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to provide clients, suppliers and sales force necessary technical information regarding the manufacturing, installation and operations of their many Hydropower projects across South Africa.
Responsibilities:
– Product and Process Specialist.
– Service Immediate Customer needs.
– Application Development/ Product Design.
– New Product Introductions.
– Customer/Supplier/Vendor Relations.
– Identify New Product Opportunities.
– Organise transfer meetings with sales, project management and customers.
– Project Management as required.
– On-site assessments, diagnosis, preventative maintenance, repairs and/or upgrades to customer’s equipment.
– Sales Opportunity Management as required.
– Contribute to company committees or initiatives as needed.
– Travel will be required as part of this position.
Requirements:
– 5+ years of relevant experience.
– Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters preferred.
– Willingness to travel in African countries with hydropower or hydropower potential.
– Demonstrated skills mechanical or electrical engineering, organisational talents and ability to provide technical service to customers.
– Knowledge in non destructive testing/quality assurance.
– Expertise in manufacturing, field service and commissioning.
– Knowledge about on-site machining.
– Fluent in English, German Desirable
Salary Package: 2 – 2.5 Million ZAR per annum
