The Role:
Primary responsibility:
Reporting to the Manager of Construction and Projects the Construction Readiness Engineer’s primary responsibility is to ensure projects where detailed design is complete have achieved a state of readiness for construction prior to construction commencement.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specific construction work packages for completeness prior to construction commencement
- Complete detailed reviews of project specific engineering deliverables to ensure completeness prior to construction commencement
- Complete detailed reviews of project material take offs, purchase orders and project drawings in order to compile a comprehensive report on the materials readiness state for upcoming projects
- Work closely with the project team to ensure any material identified as required following readiness reviews is procured and delivered to site in a timely manner
- Work closely with the site based construction team to effectively hand over ready for construction work packages to the site team
- Participate in engineering led construction readiness reviews on projects during the detailed design phase
- Participate in constructability review exercises as required
- Develop technical scopes of work for work order development as required
- Develop construction work packages for site managed projects
- Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure that commissioning plans are fully integrated into the overall project schedule
- Complete site scoping as required to support projects in the FEED or detailed engineering phase.
- Work with the London Project Team to provide feedback into ongoing design work to optimise designs with field design input

- Demonstrate commitment to excellent HSE performance in all aspects of the work
- Lead by example by strictly adhering to all HSE policies and procedures
- Ensure all design work meets or exceeds the company HSE standards or equivalent international standards
- Shall attend regular safety, health and environmental awareness training provided by the company
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, preference given to electrical or instrument discipline
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in project engineering in a site based role
- Team player with the ability to grow within a growing E&P Company
- Ability to manage scope of work and liaise successfully with contractors and nationals as needed
- Preference will be given to candidates that have worked previously in Africa or the Middle East
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
