Your missions at the US Embassy :

This position, otherwise referred to as the Economic Growth Office (EGO) Communications and Partner Coordination Specialist, contributes to the USAID/Senegal EGO Office efforts to communicate its development results, to use and strengthen host country systems towards achievement of development objectives, and to facilitate collaboration among development partners and implementer

The incumbent will collaborate with the EGO leadership and technical staff as well as the USAID/Senegal Program Office DOC team in order to: prepare speeches, talking points, briefing memos, and other communications materials for public and partner events, site visits and courtesy calls that require USAID or other high-level U.S. Government representation; edit and approve newsletters, social media materials, and other public materials and respond to information requests. The incumbent will also prepare the documentation and oversee the execution of the Government to Government agreement and update terms of reference, hold regularly scheduled meetings, assist in the compilation and completion of annual work plans and reports and streamline information sharing with the USAID/Senegal Program Office.

 

Job requirements :

  • Minimum of Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant areas to public sector, communications, international development, or civil society strengthening is required ;
  • Strong negotiation, written and oral communication; Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and cross-cultural teamwork; Event and logistical planning; Strong time and task management and prioritization; Ability to learn and adapt; Word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) (this will be tested) ;
  • Level IV (Fluent) reading/speaking/writing of English is required (this will be tested). French Level 2/2 is required (this will be tested).

 

Education Requirements :

A Bachelor’s degree in one of these areas: Public Administration, Business Administration, Agriculture, International Development, Communications, Education, Public Health, Finance, International Relations or Certified Public Accountant is required.

 

Evaluations :

  • Word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) (this will be tested) ;
  • Level IV (Fluent) reading/speaking/writing of English is required (this will be tested). French Level 2/2 is required (this will be tested) ;
  • All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certifications ;
  • Applicants who are invited to take a language or skills test, or who are selected for an interview will be contacted via email.
