Job description :
Responsible for the oversight of $17 million in property and supplies for the U.S. Mission in Dakar. Reports to the General Services Officer in charge of warehousing and supply. Supervises a staff of 30. Provides customer service to over 500 staff. Manages warehouse operations, furniture and appliance pool, and administrative supply cost centers. Ensures property records are accurate, and that warehouse property and grounds are orderly. Oversees annual inventory, make readies and exit/entrance inventories for over 150 residences, office furniture, property loan for events, fuel and water deliveries, and auctions.
Job requirements :
- Experience : Four years of progressively responsible experience in business, commerce, management, operations, logistics, and/or hospitality sector, and at least two year as a line manager with direct reports is required ;
- Job knowledge : Through knowledge of prevailing industry practices concerning supply management and warehousing. Must have detailed knowledge of all regulations that pertain to asset management of USG property. Must stay abreast of changing regulations and alert supervisor to material changes ;
- Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, operations, logistics, or hospitality is required.
Evaluations :
- Language : Level 4 (fluent) reading/writing/speaking English is required, French (Fluent reading writing and speaking) is required. Level 3 (good working knowledge) writing/speaking/reading in Wolof is required ;
- Skills and abilities : Must have the ability to manage and supervise the mission supply program efficiently. Must be tactful but firm, in dealing with mission personnel about personal property. The incumbent supervises 30 employees. As such, significant experience in leadership, management, and direct supervision of a large staff of technicians and laborers is required. Basic typing skill is required. Numerical skills are required. Must be able to work with State Department databases. Must posses a valid driver’s license.
