We are looking for a dedicated team player to join our Cargo Team in Cape-Town.
In this role, you are expected to build sustainable relationships with customers and in capacity of a regional focal to enable & deliver high standards of Service delivery for the region.

Key responsibilities :

  • Identify process gaps or improvement opportunities in operational execution across LOC and drive implementation via relevant stakeholders to Improve service delivery ;
  • Manage and inspire cost-consciousness across functions to ensure constant reduction of costs, through providing feedback upstream to ensure better vessel planning downstream ;
  • Take responsibility for reducing waste such as longstanding containers, renominations and cargo no-shows.
  • Be responsible for handling special cargo request, such as OOG capabilities, Hazardous acceptance (including RKDC maintenance) ;
  • Act as main focal for all damages and claims for transshipment cargo ;
  • Facilitate execution improvement discussions with various departments, to assist with deadline adherence and data quality ;
  • Focus on Vessel load plan approval through active engagement between terminal and vessel in agreed deadlines.
  • Manage Damage Prevention ensuring that tasks are delivered with agreed performance – Claims handling for all transshipment cargo ;
  • Strive towards seamless handover process ;
  • Maintain deadline adherence ;
  • Manage longstanding for locations within your scope ;
  • Case management – reducing turnaround time of cases and ensuring first time quality to avoid re-opening ;
  • Oversees end to end processes and ensures quality output whilst meeting customer needs ;
  • Identifies and executes cost reductions through the SmartOPS process needs.

We are looking for :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in roles extending influence spanning cross functionally ;
  • Area Operations or Cluster Management experience would be a preference ;
  • Facilitate cargo execution – deliver what has been sold ;
  • Drive best practice behavior inside the Cluster geography ;
  • Deliver Transport Plan compliance as per agreed targets ;
  • Implement and drive continuous process changes/improvements ;
  • Ability to work with time constraints and to make decisions ;
  • Sharp communication skills & relationship management. ;
  • Strong learning and sharing attitude. ;
  • Strong Analytical & Communication skills.
