About the role :

  • The Fleet Manager, ATR has responsibility for setting the required Standards pertaining to their fleet. You will ensure that all standard operating procedures, manuals and technical guidance material meet the most current accepted practice for the ATR type, ensuring regulatory compliance and cross fleet alignment where possible ;
  • Working with the Training Manager- ATR and the Standards Manager- ATR, you will ensure the crew is trained to meet the set standard ;
  • This role will also work closely with the Technical Pilot- ATR, together you will ensure the fleet meets the technical standards required for the type of operational activities undertaken. You will work with the Technical Pilot- ATR on a program of continued improvement and reliability to meet current and future operational capability ;
  • You will ensure your fleet is sufficiently resourced with qualified crew and ensure that regulatory obligations for the areas of the ATR operations are met ;
  • Working with the Base Managers, you will help resolve any Work Rule, EBA and Performance issues related to ATR Flight Crew and port operations ;
  • Overall, this role will act as a mentor and provide support for their crew in matters relating to the operations and professional development. You will strive to continually improve the safety and efficiency of the ATR operation.

 

Key responsibilities :

This role has key responsibilities across Safety, regulatory compliance, day to day operations, policy and procedure design and development, departmental documentation, leadership of flight crew and content development through various forums. Further information on this is elaborated on in the attached position description.

 

You will possess :

  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of safety principles, aircraft operating systems and processes, Australian Aviation legislation, regulations and compliance requirements including Civil Aviation Regulations (1988), the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (1998) and the Civil Aviation Orders, departmental operation policies, procedures and processes and the Pilots’ EBA and how it affects the ATR Operation ;
  • A strong understanding of the impact rule changes will have on the Flight Operation and an ability to conceptually analyse aircraft fleet changes, network changes and translate this to detailed action plans for the fleet operations ;
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and report on changes to aircraft requirements and its impact on Fleet Operations and an ability to critically assess safety and other legislation to provide an analysis of potential impact to fleet operations ;
  • Ability to understand technical publications and communicate technical data in a way that will be understood by the pilot group ;
  • A proven ability to analyse data in many forms and provide accurate and reliable advice to the HOFO/Chief Pilot or Manager, Fleet Operations & Policy, including recommendations based on the analysis.

 

Experience and qualification minimum requirements :

  • CASA Issued ATPL(A) with appropriate ratings and endorsements ;
  • Type rating for B737NG and or B777 and or A330 and or ATR-72
