Position Title:Ramp Attendant/Ground Handler

Qualifications :

  • Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant; must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no stipulations ;
  • Clean criminal record ;
  • Valid Driver’s license ;
  • Birth certificate ;
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs on a continuous basis ;
  • Ability to work in a fast pace energetic environment ;
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions as 95% is spent outside all year round ;
  • Must be available for shiftwork (including weekends and statutory holidays) ;
  • Excellent organization skills ;
  • Proven ability to take initiative and solve problems ;
  • Customer friendly focused at all times ;
  • Well-spoken English, proven communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment ;
  • Hard working, keen, responsible, dedicated and safety oriented ;
  • Mechanically inclined is considered an asset ;
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities :

  • Marshall departing and arriving aircraft ;
  • Load and unload aircraft ;
  • Secure cargo and baggage ;
  • Sort cargo ;
  • Deliver cargo to and from the aircraft ;
  • Deicing aircrafts ;
  • Push and pull aircrafts with push tug ;
  • Servicing of aircraft lav/water/Gpu/heat cart ;
  • Build cargo loads ;
  • Servicing of vehicles checking of fluids/fuel/clean ;
  • Loading/offloading up to four aircrafts at once ;
  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety ;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Training :

All Ramp Attendants will be trained to Canadian North standards as outlined in the Ramp Services Manual, including but not limited to :

  • All safety practices and procedures ;
  • Dangerous Goods-WHMIS ;
  • Ramp Handling of DeHavilland Dash 8 and Boeing 737-200 aircraft as well as ;
  • Other types of aircraft as required ;
  • Personal Protective Equipment ;
  • Fork Lift training ;
  • Deicing ;
  • Push/Pull of aircrafts ;
  • Grooming.
