How can you make a difference?

  1. Enhance positive relationships with donors through timely and accurate reporting and monitoring of donor interests and information needs. Conduct donor report quality control to ensure conformity with the proposal, funds utilization and planned results. Review, edit and advise on layout and contents of the donor reports in cooperation with programme sections and ensure timely submission of donor reports. Maintain a donor reporting schedule and provide timely reminders to the sections to ensure that all donor reports are sent on time. Update and maintain donor reporting guidance and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), based on global guidance and the Chad office needs.
  2. Develop/update the UNICEF Chad Country Office Resource Mobilization Strategy through analysis of the funding environment. Keep up-to-date donor profiles, funding tracking tools and briefing notes with a view to increasing contributions from donors.
  3. As the secretariat of the Fundraising Taskforce, prepare materials presenting accurate funding levels, gaps and incoming trends. Ensure regular monitoring of funding needs. Through analysis and research, provide strategic guidance to section chiefs and the senior management on developing new partnerships.
  4. In collaboration with the programme section chiefs and officers, develop fundraising proposals in line with the resource mobilization strategy. Undertake research on donor interests and advise the sections on new funding opportunities.
    5. Ensure programme sections and field offices are kept up-to-date with donor conditionality and it is respected. Organize training to improve staff capacity on donor reporting and knowledge management.
  5. In collaboration with sections, develop talking points to enhance advocacy and leverage resources. Support field offices during donor and other missions to the field in collaboration with the Communications and programme sections.
  6. Support the Deputy Representative and section chiefs to compile and produce mandatory UNICEF reports, including the annual report.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education
Advanced university degree in International Relations, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing or related field, with training and experience in resource mobilization.
A first University Degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of Advanced University Degree.

Work Experience

  •  At least five years practical professional work experience in donor relations, reporting, partnerships, communication or related field at national and international level
  •  Strong demonstrated experience in donor reporting required. Proven ability to synthesize and powerfully convey messages and good knowledge and understanding of UNICEF programmatic work and principles will be an advantage
  •  Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with close attention to detail
    Solid experience in the usage of computers and office software programmes and experience in handling web-based management systems
  •  Background/familiarity with emergency situations

Language Proficiency
Fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of the local working language is an asset
