Expressions of interest are being requested for : SRM WEBDYNPRO ABAP DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

 

Brief description of the Assignment :

The main objective of the assignment is to rectify the identified issues after the SRM go-live and implement improvements requested by client.

The consultant will process at the satisfaction of the client, all development requirements assigned to him/her by the technical lead or the Manager of the Corporate Applications & Services. In order to achieve this, the SRM Webdynpro Developer consultant will be required to carry out part or all the following tasks:

  • Delivery of ABAP /Webdynpro program assets based on technical specifications. He/she may be called upon to fill gaps in specifications with expert knowledge ;
  • Provide technical expertise for system design, testing, implementation and support ;
  • Work alongside the other technical (developers) and functional consultants, possibly handling multiple pieces of work simultaneously, alongside ad-hoc support queries in his/her role ;
  • Work with the development team as peers and be able to communicate effectively with customers as needed ;
  • Organize his/her time effectively on a daily and weekly basis to meet various deadlines.

Establishment of the Short List

A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume.

General qualifications and adequacy for the assignment to be undertaken35%

The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedure for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the Administrative or Capital expenditure. Background

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is a regional multilateral development finance institution established in 1963 with a mandate to further the economic development and social progress of African countries, individually and collectively.

The Bank has approximately over 2000 staff members, who have been recruited from a wide geographic area only limited by membership in the Bank. There are currently 80 different nationalities from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas represented within the Bank making the institution multicultural in every sense of the word. The Bank has two official languages: English and French. It co-operates with a large network of international development partners.

Corporate Information Technology (IT) Services Department (CHIS): The strategic objective of the Corporate IT Services department (CHIS) at the Bank is to align the IT delivery strategy along with the Bank’s business strategy, to increase the organizational effectiveness through efficient use of the Information Systems (IS). Under the leadership of the Bank’s Information System’s Director, CHIS department is mandated by the Bank to deliver the best possible IT services for Bank staff, and help achieve the results that will get the Bank closer to accomplishing its development goals.

Objective :

Scope of the services :

The consultant will process at the satisfaction of the client, all development requirements assigned to him/her by the technical lead or the Manager of the Corporate Applications & Services. In order to achieve this, the SRM Webdynpro Developer consultant will be required to carry out part or all the following tasks :

  • Delivery of ABAP /Webdynpro program assets based on technical specifications. He/she may be called upon to fill gaps in specifications with expert knowledge.
  • Provide technical expertise for system design, testing, implementation and support.
  • Work alongside the other technical (developers) and functional consultants, possibly handling multiple pieces of work simultaneously, alongside ad-hoc support queries in his/her role.
  • Work with the development team as peers and be able to communicate effectively with customers as needed.
  • Organize his/her time effectively on a daily and weekly basis to meet various deadlines.

The consultant should be able to work independently but will receive direction on projects from supervisor and/or the SRM technical lead.

Delivrable :

The following is the list of expected deliverables during and at the end of the assignment :

  • Outline System Specifications ;
  • Physical data flows ;
  • Common routines and utilities ;
  • Program specifications or prototypes ;
  • Backup, recovery and restart procedures ;
  • Program Designs ;
  • ABAP Program enhancement ;
  • Workflow development on new specification ;
  • Systems that meet functional design specifications ;
  • System and program tests ;
  • System and program documentation ;
  • Physical System Designs.

Profile of the consultant

The consultants should have :

  • Master or Engineering degree in Information Technology or related filed.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in implementation/upgrade/support while handling end-to-end SAP SRM technical tasks
  • SAP based certifications are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of SRM technical framework understanding of SAP SRM BADIs, SRM /MM BAPI- s, FM’s & web-Dynpro enhancement framework
  • Highly experienced in ABAP, Strong troubleshooting skills, FPM technologies, an experience of creating custom smart forms,
  • Must have worked on enhancing the standard web-Dynpro views/screens at UI level
  • Strong debugging skills in ABAP and strong trouble-shooting skills in general.
  • Experience on Workflow/Idocs/RFC/BOPF.
  • Should understand requirements from functional specifications clearly and able to map the requirements to prepare Technical specification & other documents.

His/her skill set should include :

  • Experience in post support for SRM 7.02 EHP2 ;
  • WebDynPro ( ABAP and Java ) ;
  • Floorplan Manager for WebDynPro ABAP ;
  • ABAP Object Oriented programming ;
  • Portal administration and Configuration: create iViews, Page, Workset Role for the portal content, deployment, etc ;
  • Portal Personalization., Customization, Configuration such as (Single Sign On, ume settings etc.), User Management, System Configuration such as assigning permissions, lock & unlock portal objects ;
  • Report writing using ALV and ABAP lists ;
  • Interfaces ;
  • SAP SRM BADIs, SRM /MM BAPI- s, FM’s & web-Dynpro enhancement framework ;
  • User exits/Enhancement Implementation ;
  • Workflow ;
  • LSMW ;
  • ALE/IDocs ;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French or English is a must.

Duration :

The assignment period is expected for 06 months.

Expected start date: 15 January 2019

The work will be carried on at Bank’s headquarter at Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Reporting :

The consultant will report to the Manager of Corporate Application Services.

Remuneration

The consultant will receive a monthly lump sum rate. No additional benefits or per diem will be paid. The individual consultant is responsible for his/her own health insurance and own accommodation costs.
