REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES

UPGRADING/DUALLING OF THE KENOL – SAGANA – MARUA ROAD (A2) PROJECT:

LOT 2: UPGRADING/DUALLING OF THE SAGANA-MARUA (A2) ROAD SECTION (36KM)

TENDER NO KeNHA/2196/2019

 

Context :

1. The Government of the Republic of Kenya has applied for financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to finance the Upgrading/Dualling of Kenol – Sagana – Marua Road (A2) Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this loan to make eligible payments under the contract for the Consultancy Services for Design Review and Construction Supervision of LOT 2; Upgrading/Dualling of the Sagana-Marua(A2) Road Section (36Km);
2. The service  includes:  Consultancy  Services  for  Design  Review  and  Construction Supervision of LOT 2; Upgrading/Dualling of the Sagana-Marua (A2) Road Section: (i). to review the design and ensure that the road is constructed in accordance with the General and Particular Conditions of Contract, the Technical Specifications and Engineering Drawings, ii). To optimize the use of available material resources to minimize costs to the Employer or to maximize the quality of the Works or to expedite construction; and (iii). to ensure that the road constructed within the Contract Price and Time for Completion allowed under the Contract;
3. Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), being an authorized agent of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interests in providing above services;
4. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, in similar conditions and availability of the appropriate skills among staff, etc). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications;
5. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations”-August, 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest;
6. Expressions of interest must be delivered in written form and clearly marked with the assignment title & Tender No and deposited in the box at Kenya National Highways Authority Headquarters, 1^st Floor, Block C, Barabara Plaza, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, Off Mazao Road (Opposite Aviation House) or addressed to the: Deputy Director, (Supply Chain Management)

7. The disbursements in respect to any Contract signed shall be subject to approval of the financing from the Bank.

9. Electronic submission is NOT Late Expressions of Interests shall be rejected. Expressions of Interest shall thereafter be opened in public on Tuesday 6^th August, 2019 at 1100hrs Local Time in the presence of the applicants’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below.
