Advisor: Contract Governance & Administration

An exciting opportunity exists for an Advisor: Contract Governance and Administration in the Finance department, reporting to the Specialist: Contract Governance and Administration. You will be responsible for verifying and validating supplier invoices against supporting documentation and contractual terms before it can be processed for payment and providing meaningful reporting and analysis in a timely manner on contractual spend and anomalies. The incumbents need to maintain an accurate reporting of the contract administration system to support effective decision making. This role provides annual planning guidance in relation to external services costs.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Maintains HSE standards
  • Effectively apply, maintain and monitor the contractor management system and cost control system (MCi Track) and conduct investigations and gap analysis on variances.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate contract documentation for reference and future auditing purposes by minimising legal and commercial risk to the organisation;
  • Monitor and report on Contractor performance against agreed KPI’s;
  • Review and validate invoices with/to agreed contracts and other supporting source information, e.g. goods receipts and service confirmations (three-way matching process) per contracting company
  • Validate periodic price adjustments to appropriate indices and formulas;
  • Ensure own and vendor compliance at all times with relevant Financial and Procurement policies and procedures;
  • Ensure governance requirements with regards to contractor spend is adhered to at all times;
  • Initiate cost saving ideas aimed at reducing contractor spend;
  • Complete projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned by the Specialist: Contract Administration and Governance;
  • Develops and expands understanding of existing contracts and evaluates their cost effectiveness to reduce costs or optimise the service delivery.

Minimum qualifications

  • Grade 12 and a recognised B.Comm Degree in Finance, Commerce or Accounting
  • A minimum of three (3) years working experience in a financial environment is essential
  • A background in Forensics, Internal Audit and Governance is desirable
  • Knowledge of VAT, Incoterms and IFRS is required
  • CIA/CA will be an added advantage
  • Completion of articles will be an added advantage
  • Experience in contract and contractor governance and administration is desirable
  • Code BE driver’s license
