Description :

The Opportunity

The Nutrition Programme Manager, with support from the Nutrition Technical Adviser, Area Manager and the Humanitarian Programme Manager, will be responsible for the implementation of all Nutrition programmes for the Center Area Office. The Nutrition Programme Manager will be expected to :

  • Deliver programme results on time and within budget, and to ensure that all program implementation meets SCI quality standards ;
  • Manage and implement monitoring and data management systems ;
  • Deliver donor reports on time and with sufficient quality to maintain a positive, trusting relationship with the donor ;
  • Ensure the rationalized use of financial and human resources during implementation ;
  • Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain team to timely, effective and accountable management of the supply chain, including procurement, for the Nutrition programmes, and
  • Coordinate effectively with health and PRONANUT authorities in Mbuji Mayi and Mwedi Ditu, maintaining a positive and transparent relationship.

The Nutrition Programme Manager will also input into or play a major role in needs assessment, programme design and budgeting for future nutrition programmes.

Profil recherché :

In order to be successful you will have :

  • Master degree preferred in Public Health, Nutrition or related subject ;
  • Significant and successful management experience in Health and Nutrition programmes in emergency or fragile states contexts ;
  • Previous first phase emergency response experience ;
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability ;
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills ;
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff in Nutrition technical skills ;
  • Experience of representation and ability to represent SC effectively in external forums ;
  • Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors ;
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued reports ;
  • Excellent communication skills ;
  • Strong influencing skills and experience in advocacy ;
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy ;
  • Fluent written and spoken French, and substantial level of English ;
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances ;
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
