The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department (PERN) is embedded within the PEVP complex and aims to promote the development of renewable energy solutions and off – grid access across Africa in order to meet the ambitious targets set by the NDEA. The PERN department’s mission is to structure and obtain funding for renewable energy projects from internal (e.g. Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa – SEFA) and external climate finance facilities. • Resource mobilization: support the mobilization of requisite resources from MDBs/DFIs and private partners, significantly increasing the mobilization of private finance for Africa’s energy sector; contribute to capacity building for government-led coordination efforts, public-private energy sector financing dialogues and resource mobilization for this purpose.
