UNICEF :

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, hope :

The Central African Republic (CAR) is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, given the proportion of the population in need of assistance. With over 620,000 internally displaced people and 570,000 refugees, one in five Central Africans has fled conflict, leaving both home and land behind. In 2019, an estimated 2.9 million people, including 1.5 million children – two out of every three children in the country – will require humanitarian assistance, representing a 16 per cent increase over 2018. This rise in needs is due to the increasing number of conflict situations, diminishing humanitarian funding and constrained humanitarian access. In 2019, an estimated 38,000 children under 5 years will suffer from severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
