The Programme Coordinator will report to the Chief of Social Policy and be guided by the Deputy Representative, in close collaboration with the Chief of Nutrition, Chief of WASH and Chief of Education. The Programme Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the UNICEF component of the joint project, and provide strategic project planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring and reporting support to achieve the delivery of the targeted results. The incumbent will coordinate internally with UNICEF concerned programme sections and field offices in North Kivu and South Kivu provinces, and externally with counterpart programme coordinators from World Food Programme (WFP) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), as well as with the Joint Programme Coordinator.
The position has Kinshasa as duty station but the incumbent will be roving, with 50% time in Kinshasa with extensive period of time in the provinces concerned by the programme (50%).
How can you make a difference?
2. Establish close coordination and synergy with WFP and FAO counterparts ;
4. Coordinate the elaboration of the project annual work plan and budget, its submission and approval, and seek the corresponding authorizations required to undertake project activities, to ensure eligibility of expenditures and activities based on the requirements the donor ;
5. Ensure the achievement of the project results according to the submitted plans, budget allocations and time frames as outlined in the project framework ;
6. Provide support in monitoring the implementation of specific program activities, ensuring coherence of programming strategies and proposing adjustments as appropriate ;
7. Support relevant UNICEF components in documenting progress throughout implementation by working closely with implementing partners; and facilitate knowledge management and information sharing among programme actors ;
8. Oversee and coordinate Monitoring & Evaluation activities and staff in coordination with the concerned programme sections and field offices ;
9. Support overall reporting and produce corporate documentation as requested ;
10. Contribute to effective communication and visibility of results.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in political science, social sciences, international relations, programme management or any related field ;
A first university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and additional two (2) years of relevant professional work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree ; - A minimum of [5] five years of relevant professional experience in the field of resilience, peacebuilding, and social cohesion building, or related experience in development or humanitarian programmes, particularly in crisis and post conflict countries ;
- Fluency in French and English required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station/region is an asset. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
