Purpose of the job

Under the supervision of the Country Support Manager, assists in researching, writing and editing knowledge sharing and support documentation and communication materials for Supply Division and the UNICEF Supply Community; and supports the development, facilitation, coordination and implementation of knowledge sharing strategies that include platform, culture, content and capacity development. The position is co-lead on the Supply Community strategy:

 

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Support the Country Support Function and its focus on strategic support and development of the Supply Function by providing supply chain, procurement, contracting and logistics expertise and solutions including VISION (SAP ERP), business process, policy and procedures to country offices and support knowledge exchange to foster the effective implementation of the Supply Function;
  2. Support Supply Division and the Supply Community in unlocking, transforming and sharing knowledge in a systematic and timely way by developing or using the online platforms;
  3. Co-lead the Supply Community strategy with focus on optimizing knowledge exchange and its components of culture change, content building, offering training and guidelines and enhancing a platform for exchange and a repository of knowledge;
  4. Support the Supply Community online through change management and community management on the new Supply Community platform;
  5. Review supply communications and knowledge sharing vehicles on a regular basis to ensure they are updated and reflect the current priorities. Propose updates, upgrades and new pages;
  6. Analyse and visualize business data and queries to share trends for improved performance and build a knowledge repository;
  7. During the absence of the Country Support Manager act as back up;
  8. Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Education

  • A completed University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Business Administration or Supply & Logistics;

Experience

  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in supply chain with strong communication skills including knowledge sharing is required;
  • VISION / SAP ERP knowledge is a requirement;
  • Field experience in a UNICEF or other UN offices an asset;
  • Must be able to synthesize and transform information into shareable knowledge to a wide group of internal and external users;
  • Must be proficient in the use of electronic media and networks as effective knowledge sharing tools;
  • Writing and editing knowledge, solutions and supporting documentation and communication materials;
  • Must have a solid understanding of UN procurement, logistics and supply chain;
  • Ability to effectively liaise, connect and engage with the supply community and beyond;
  • Experience in knowledge exchange an asset.

Language requirement

Fluency in English is required.

Proficiency in another UN language (Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, Chinese) is an asset.
