How can you make a difference?

Under supervision of the Nutrition Head of section in Central South Zone, the incumbent contributes to the management of Nutrition h supplies using UNICEF and donor specifications and guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for proper planning, distribution and monitoring of nutrition supplies in the warehouse and project sites. Train partners with regard to nutrition supplies storage.

 

key accountabilities and duties & tasks :

  • Generate and interpret supply reports for the grant to be used for management of the funds allocated and report to the donor as and when required. Contribute to the procurement and management of Nutrition supplies using UNICEF and donor specific guidelines and raise all supply requisitions and release order ;
  • Ensure use of recommended tools to gather information from the nutrition facilities and district stores about the quantity of nutrition supplies distributed, received, utilized and available in order to prepare detailed analysis of data at zonal level and situation in each district which will be used in the donor reports ;
  • Support the zonal, state and district nutrition facilities in updating the quarterly nutrition supplies and ensure that the inventory are fully functional at all nutrition supplies hub ;
  • Track all nutrition supplies distribution and monitor end use of nutrition supplies thru various mechanisms including field visits. Follow up with financial reports, clear quarterly report with defined timelines as agreed upon ;
  • Capacity building at Regional, district and Nutrition facility levels for nutrition supplies handlers and relevant staff at these levels through organizing workshops, orientation sessions, trainings and providing day to day technical guidance ;
  • Advise Programme head of section on variances and relocation of supplies to be done accordingly, provide support in raising any approved transaction in SAP (VISION transaction) as well as providing administrative cover.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary school education is required plus courses/certifications in business administration, supply chain management, procurement or logistics will be considered One year of relevant professional work experience ;
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible administrative and/or supply-related work experience (procurement, supply or logistics) is required ;
  • Familiarity with UNICEF, UN supply procedures and systems is an asset ;
  • Fluency in English and local language of the duty station is required.
