How can you make a difference?

Under the general supervision of the Senior Logistics Associate, responsible for the day to day management of the UNICEF warehouses in line with UNICEF policies and ensure that accurate and complete accounting control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are properly maintained

 

Summary of key functions/accountabilities :

  1. Record all stock movements in Unitrack daily and produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and that all supplies are kept safe and secure as per SOP. Follow up and make sure that KPI targets are met ;
  2. Prepare loading plans and ensure that standard waybills/Government receipts are duly complete, disseminated and acknowledged.  Assess the availability of space and prepare stacking/storage plans prior to UNICEF programming/contingency commodities arrivals ;
  3. Ensure proper and timely communication with all Sections, staff groups and partners related to all incoming and outgoing movement of supplies ;
  4. Monitor the quantity and quality of commodities received against appropriate documents and report any discrepancies ;
  5. Carry out quarterly inventory reconciliation and monthly random inventory check ;
  6. Supervise warehouse assistant and ancillary staff and motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set production targets are met ;
  7. Overseeing the auxiliary warehouse location (Mbuya) and all program related supplies. Overseeing the planned maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Secondary school education supplemented with a course in warehouse or logistics management ;
  • Six years working experience in warehousing/inventory management ;
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
