Position : Field Security Officer

Location : Field Operations

Report to : Fields Security Advisor

Reporting to the Field Security Advisor, the  Field Security Officer will perform duties and responsabilities in accordance with the objectives and activities in United Hydrocarbon Chad Ltd (UHCL) operational plans and other duties as requested by UHCL.

Responsabilities and duties :

Within limits of delegated authorithy and depending on location, the Field Security Officer may be responsible for the following duties ;

  • Support the Fields Security Advisor in all this duties.
  • Facilitate links between the local authorities, partner agencies, DSPIP Guard Force and private security Company.
  • Supervise and coordinate static guards and premises.
  • Coordinate and deliver training to UHCL Guard Force as appropriate.
  • Collate and validate information, evaluate the reliability of sources and credibility of information.
  • Ensure there is an information management mechanism established for sharning relevant information to UHCL management.
  • Monitor adherence to information security guidelines.
  • Ensure the continued effectiveness of UHCL Guard force in relation to changes in the local threat situation.
  • Manage some aspects of the administration and work of the DSPIP and Security Company.
  • Maintain communication with Field Security Advisors.
  • Liaise and review the UHCL Guard Force including local watchmen and the DSPIP on project, ensure that it’s aligned with the project scope, while maintaining effectiveness and effiency.
  • Respond to an inquiries and information requests internally and externally.
  • Alerting the supervisory chain immediately of any accident or incident.
  • Provide assistance to UHCL personnzl who may require it under the direction of the UHCL security management team.
  • Preparing performance appraisal reports of the security Company and DSPIP Guard Force on project location.
  • Report for duty as and when necessary (on call).
  • Act as conduit for information from the local community, other information sources and workforce to UHCL Security Management as it relates to security and community relations issues.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to control situations involving difficult and stressful incidents.
  • Basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and risks to people and property as applied to the working environment.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) to record and produce information.
  • Ability to handle multiple crises calmly and a way which inspires others.
  • Ability to respond to concerns and resquests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective actions.
  • Current chadien driver’s license.
  • Bilingual (English-French) is required.
  • Capable of working in harsh environments.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Strong military or Police background to include. Leadership,Emergency preparation and Team Work building
  • Security professional with a proven 5 years of experience with in the security industry, the public sector or armed forces.
