We have a strong culture of innovation and achievement and are now on the lookout for a Head of Digital Sales & Optimisation to join our emerging Digital & Direct Division to champion this critical business area.

 

 

The role

As a newly created role reporting directly to our General Manager, Digital & Direct, the role has been established to take responsibility for direct sales channel for the Virgin Australia airline and increase our footprint in this competitive space.

The portfolio encompasses flight and ancillary revenue streams (such as upgrades, hotels and insurance) via direct channels (mobile, desktop and app) and our Guest Contact Centre (GCC) which represent a value of $2bn each year, making the end to end digital customer journey a key performance indicator.

Key stakeholders include Digital Transformation, Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, Ground operations and more.

As a new role in an icon of innovative and progressive Australian organisations, you’ll lead change (directly and indirectly) to drive a culture of achievement in a competitive marketplace with people engagement strategies at the fore.

 

About you

We’re looking for an agent of change who has headed up cross-functional teams, who encourages collaboration and has exceptional experience in large values driven commercial organisations. Naturally this will mean you’re an intuitive leader who uses data, insights and relationships to inform strategies and guide your team to achieve outstanding results. You’ll need to quickly identify and engage with stakeholders to build strong relationships with multi-discipline teams.

 

Must haves

  • At least five years’ experience leading high performance Digital Sales teams
  • At least two years’ experience leading agile, cross functional teams
  • A thorough and proven track record in optimising digital customer journeys and conversion rate optimisation
  • Commercially minded with P&L Management and experience (5+yrs)

Airline & Travel industry experience is valued though not essential.
