Function :

In the performance of his/her function, the Business Assistant of UNHAS Libya:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Air Transport Officer (CATO) the Programme Assistant is responsible for monitoring resources of the WFP Aviation Activities;

 

Duties and responsabilities :

  • The Business Assistant of UNHAS Libya is responsible for the following duties ;
  • Assisting CATO in preparation of periodic financial reports of the Aviation Activities ;
  • Liaising and coordinate with the country office systematic update on the air operation’s funding requirement ;
  • Preparation of operational budgets, when required ;
  • Coordinating with the Country Office on budget revisions; prepare budget revision documents, when required;
  • Translating documents from English to Arabic or French;
  • Programming the utilization of resources made available to UNHAS Libya;
  • Analyzing contract terms and conditions, and correct any observed discrepancies between contract rates and invoice amounts;
  • Prepare correspondence related to budgetary and financial matters;
  • Ensuring accurate accounting;
  • Ensuring support of audit reviews related to financial and budgetary observations;
  • Setting up proper accounting procedures and systems, internal controls and security;
  • Perform other related duties as required .

 

Competencies :

  • Sound judgment ;
  • Ability to extract, interpret, analyze and format data and to resolve operational problems ;
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision ;
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds .

 

Qualifications :

Education

  • Secondary School Education ;
  • Work Experience ;
  • Five years of progressively responsible administration experience including at least three years in operations, resources, accounting or other related field .

Languages :

  • Working knowledge of English, Arabic and French

           

Terms and conditions :

This position is to be based in the WFP Libya Office outposted in Tunis, Tunisia

The position is open to Tunisian Nationals.
