Main purpose of position

Undertake the accurate translation (from Arabic into English) documentation including financial accounts, procurement, and statements of account as a part of a wider project audit taking place in Egypt. The audit will cover the full duration of a closed 2.5-year project and include all project documentation and supporting documents.

All CGIAR Centers are currently engaged into a reform process (“One CGIAR’”) that will help ICARDA and CGIAR achieve better impact through more strategically integrated research, unified governance, an integrated structure and new research modalities across participating Research Centers. This transformation is supported by CGIAR donors who have committed to increased funding as a result of these reforms.

Main responsibilities

Undertake the accurate translation of financial transactions including, but not limited to

  • Statements of account
  • Invoices
  • Proof of receipt of payments
  • Contracts and annexes

Undertake the accurate translation of institutional documentation including, but not limited to

  • Procurement processes and manuals/National Regulation and Legislation/Policies (Egyptian)
  • Financial processes and manuals
  • Other documentation as required

Requirements

Education, qualifications, and experience

Essential qualifications and competencies

  • Relevant university degree, certificate and work experience in translation of financial, audit, and procurement documentation.
  • Proof of prior audit engagements of this type with references.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Excellent command of the Arabic language.
  • Experience in an international agricultural research, universities, not-for-profits, international development, or other relevant field.

Desirable qualifications and competencies

  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of international development, NGOs, international agriculture research for development or other

Terms of appointment, salary and benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a full-time consultancy contract of 1 month. And will be entitled to an all-inclusive stipend subject to final successful delivery of documentation.

Selection will be conducted on a rolling basis and priority will be given to candidates who are available to start working immediately.
