ROLE PURPOSE:

The Communications Assistant works closely with the Quality and Communications Officer to meet all sponsorship-related objectives as related to quality, authentic, accurate, and timely sponsorship communications. This person ensures that sponsors are provided with meaningful and robust sponsorship experience. Specific responsibilities include Content creation, translation, and admin roles including data entry and administrative work over sponsorship operations and communications.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Quality and Communications Officer

Number of direct reports: None

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  •  Ensure child and country office communications are written in a way to promote sponsor-child engagement
  •  Translation of child correspondence from Arabic to English and vice versa
  •  Ensure child letters are authentic, timely, engaging, and of acceptable quality to mail to sponsors.
  •  Enveloping, stamping, and photocopying sponsors and children’s letters to be sent to USA and Italy
  •  Determine if any sensitive communications from sponsors should be flagged and sent to Member offices for handling.
  •  Work with the Quality and Communications Officer to produce materials (written pieces, video, photos) that bring alive our programs and the realities facing children and communities in our impact area(s) according to the Marketing manual plan for Member retention communications.
  •  Work with the data management officer on tracking and escalating any system issues that might interfere with quality data collection and timely submission.
  •  Support the child servicing team in performing admin work as required.
  •  Managing any translation requests from Egypt CO or any other duties and assignments as required by line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Bachelor of Arts in Literature (English Department) or any relevant experience
  •  Fluency in English, both written and verbal is a must.
  •  Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, recommended a minimum of one year of experience as a translator in an NGO environment or private sector.
  •  Ability to plan and organize a workload.
  •  Excellent computer skills including word processing and presentation
  •  Demonstrated credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  •  Ability to submit timely and accurate reports and data.
  •  Ability to use professional cameras
  •  Good communication skills and ability to support and deal with different staff members from different functions, donors, and partners.
  •  Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours during major Sponsorship campaigns.
