The Opportunity:
This pivotal role ensures integrity and accuracy of financial information and support for the Virgin Australia Group.
Essentially, you will provide overall support for the division during month-end, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are complete, liaising with external auditors ensuring all recommendations are action in a timely manner, calculate charges and post journals/accruals and calculate high-value provisions utilising detailed input data.
Additionally you will also:
- Build and maintain effective relationships within finance and across business units & departments to deliver a seamless accounting and purchasing function
- Ensure sub-ledgers have correctly interfaced and reconciled to the general ledger
- Review the monthly management accounts identifying errors, omissions and duplications to ensure the integrity of the management accounts
- Complete various reports based on financial information and present a clear understanding of the movements MoM inline with key drivers
- Complete month-end in accordance with the month-end timetable so there are no delays to the consolidation process are caused
We are looking for someone who….
- Is CA or CPA qualified
- The ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Holds between 5-10 years commercial/chartered experience
- Has demonstrated working knowledge with Oracle Financials or other ERP systems
- Is able to effectively problem solve and work to tight and changing deadlines and priorities
- Is an effective communicator, both verbal and written with an eye for detail
- A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership
