The postition is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until May 31, 2019. Employment location will be Bangui, Central African Republic. Taking the security situation into account, travel for work will be required.

The aim of the project is first, to consolidate our programme and the necessary personnel, organisational and administrative structures for the correct handling of current and possible future projects. In the medium and long term, the Country Office’s goal is to ensure the high-quality work of the project teams in the country in the spirit of decentralization.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of all logistic activities in the country office (CO) and as logistic supervisor for the projects in the country
  • Supervision and support of the logistic staff in CO and in the projects
  • Supervision and control of the procurement plans for all projects and the CO
  • Supervision and coordination of tender processes
  • Coordination with projects and provide advice when needed
  • Coordination with the Procurement Unit at HO,
  • Ensuring of the administration of the whole procurement documentation
  • Responsible for fleet, asset and warehouse management according to WHH procedures
  • Preparing project visits by different stakeholders
  • Performs other tasks which arise during the course of an assignment in the country

Your profile

  • A relevant university / polytechnic degree, ideally in the field of logistics, or training
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position, 5 of which in an emergency context
  • Excellent management skills, especially when under considerable working pressure
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team
  • Excellent cooperation and teamworking skills
  • Ability to manage and work in a team
  • Good mental and physical resilience
  • Hands on- community mobilization
  • Co-ordination and organisation skills even under heavy work pressure
  • A very good command of written and spoken French and English; German language skills are an asset
