Applications are open for the Aspen Ideas Festival Bush Foundation Scholar Programme 2019. The Aspen Ideas Festival is one of the nation’s premier public gathering places for leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines to engage in deep and inquisitive discussion of the ideas and issues that shape our lives and challenge our times.

Some 450 presenters, 400 sessions and 3,000 attendees comprise the annual Festival on the Aspen Institute’s campus in Aspen, Colorado. This year’s program tracks will include American Reckoning, American Renewal; Defining Economic Progress; Next World Order; The Art of the Story; In Search of Meaning; Redefining Conservatism in America; and Coming to Grips with Climate Change.

The Bush Foundation is funding scholarships for 25 people from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations in the region to attend the 2019 Aspen Ideas Festival, June 26-30.

Benefits :

  • Each selected scholar will receive travel, meals and four nights of lodging, coordinated by event staff, and a pass to Festival 2 of the Aspen Ideas Festival which will take place from June 26 to June 29, 2019 ;
  • Scholarship recipients will be invited to a special Bush Foundation event during the Festival where they can connect with one another, as well as events with other Aspen Ideas Festival scholars from across the country and around the globe.

Eligibility :

  • Open to people from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations in the region ;
  • Applicants must be 21 years old by the event date to participate.
