The Digital Identification and Finance Initiative in Africa (DigiFI Africa) aims to grow the evidence base around innovations in identification and payments by supporting governments in their efforts to monitor and evaluate relevant reforms.
DigiFI Africa funds cutting edge research projects focused on the study of innovative government payment systems, IDs, and reforms. For this round of grants, DigiFI Africa is accepting the following categories of proposals :
- Proposal Development grants (maximum $10 000) ;
- Pilot studies (maximum $75 000) ;
- Full-Scale RCTs ($400 000).
African Scholars (researchers who have completed their PhD and are based at academic institutions in Africa) are eligible to apply for travel/proposal development grants and up to $75,000 for a pilot study. Those interested in applying as an African Scholar are encouraged to discuss your proposed idea with the DigiFI team before the submission deadline.
