Future of Work in the Global South (FoWiGS) invites research proposals on how technological change is reshaping employment and the nature of work in the Global South.
Technological and social forces are currently reshaping employment, and more generally the nature of work. There is currently little understanding about how these transformations are affecting countries in the Global South. FoWiGS is calling for research proposals to fill this knowledge void and create high-quality, policy-relevant research about the implications of these changes for equitable development in emerging regions.
The call welcomes research proposals from a variety of disciplines and methodological perspectives. This includes (but is not limited to)
- Impact evaluation research
- Surveys
- Ethnographic studies
- Action research
- Field experiments
- Policy analysis
Proposals that include a comparative perspective across two or more countries are encouraged.
Proposals should address issues of gender equality, youth employment or social inclusion for minority populations.
Research proposals must be led by scholars based in the Global South
Submission deadline: December 15, 2019
Visit theFoWiGS website and download the full call, including submission guidelines.
