Job description :

Call for Small Medium and Enterprises (SMEs) On Financial and Inventory Management System Capacity building-Garowe and Gardho.

 

Background Of the Consultancy Firm :

Invista Inc Consultancy Firm has been working closely with the SMEs in Puntland in (Garowe, Galkacio, Qardo and Bosaso) from 2016 and beyond. Invista Inc provides Business Development Services to small medium enterprises in Somalia and is managed by professional individuals from different sectors including (BDS Experts, Financial Management Specialists, Auditors and Project Management Professionals).

In the past couple of years Invista Inc has successfully completed business development projects, program activities with SMEF, SPARK and with other governmental institutions for small and medium enterprises in the country.

About the capacity building program :

Financial and Inventory Management System will build the capacity of 15 SMEs in Puntland by implementing basic accounting software and inventory management system.

Providing group trainings on advanced features of the computerized accounting system so that SMEs are able to better manage the financials of their company more effectively; setting-up financial software for SME’s based on 1-to-1 basis support on accounting and inventory management; up-skilling two employees per company on daily working with the basic accounting and inventory management software. Above mentioned affairs will be implemented within the SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE FACILITY (SMEF) project in Somalia

 

Objective of the Expression of Interest (EOI) :

The objective of the proposed offer is to upgrade the finance functions of SMEs and support them with the following :

  • Training SMEs is to increase the understanding and usage of basic financial software (that can range from basic excel to customized software such as (QuickBooks 2016) depending on the level or the need of the respective SME ;
  • The ability for the SME’s to manage their financial operations and effectively manage their inventories  ;
  • To provide 1-on-1 support to implement the software for the SME’s.

Overall, this system allows the customers to track inventories, manage finances, to see list of the products that the company buys from suppliers, products that the company sells to customers and the objective is to maximize profit and to grow the business.

Scope of work :

The training will be implemented in Garowe and Gardho

Qualifications and eligibility criteria :

To support SME’s, SMEF has set clear eligibility criteria to select businesses that will be serviced. These criteria are :

  1. Only commercial businesses ;
  2. Only SMEs (based on number of employees between 1 and 300) are eligible for SMEF services ;
  3. SMEF prefers to support companies that add local value (production, processing, manufacturing, etc. – no retail and trading) and have more innovative businesses ;
  4. SMEF has a preference to support SMEs that are in sectors with growth potential and can generate significant employment opportunities ;
  5. The requested SME services should be in line with the eligible business and technical assistance services ;
  6. The SME clearly intends to contribute to part of the service costs ;
  7. Thus Selected SMEs should qualify for the SMEF criteria.
