Job description

Job Title : Intern
Department : IT department
Location : Garowe
Duration : 6 months with possible extension.

 

Job Summary

The purpose of this internship is to provide IT technical assistance and support to all CI staff for network, hardware and software issues with efficient, quality and timely support services within the remit of this job Major

 

Responsibilities :

  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions ;
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software ;
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs ;
  • Monitor antivirus software, updates, and repair computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses ;
  • Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security ;
  • Record activities, solutions and other responses to request for service ;
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment ;
  • Contribute to CARE staff technical documentation and participate in policy, Procedure, and standards development ;
  • Consult with Supervisor, perform research and evaluate the market to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment and installation or upgrade of systems ;
  • Assist users in determining appropriate software solutions to meet needs ;
  • Develop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use ;
  • Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless Access
    point ;
  • Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff ;
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned by your supervisor ;

  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment ;
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts is necessary ;
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player ;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral ;
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities ;
  • Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills ;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills ;
  • Ability to handle multiple clients and multiple team members with confidence Required Qualifications ;
  • Degree in IT or related degree ;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
