Qualifications :

  • Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months’ ;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) ;
  • Good working knowledge of statistic software (SPSS, STATA) ;
  • Proficient with the data presentation software such as Tableau ;
  • Have a good mastery of cartography software, ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS ;
  • Be able to collect, process and analyze complex data ;
  • Be able to deploy very quickly in the field to support Sub-offices or cooperating partners ;
  • Abilility to work in a multicultural environment , independency and under pressure ;
  • Fluent in French ;
  • Fluent in English ;

Context :

The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP [[Name of Unit]] of the [[Name of Division]]. The position will be based at our Headquarters in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The Internship will be for an initial period of [[3]] months starting from [[6]].

Job purpose :

The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP M&E with the following key duties :

  • Assist the M&E unit in the collection of output and outcome data and produce analysis reports ;
  • Support firms and / or consulting firms in the collection, analysis and reporting of PDM, Baseline, EFSA, Endline surveys ;
  • Assist the M&E Unit and the sub-offices in the collection, processing and analysis of data ;
  • Provide technical support and advice for the creation, maintenance and analysis of monitoring and evaluation systems ;
  • Analyze geographic models of food security and vulnerability by integrating primary food security data with other sources of GIS data ;
  • Conduct field missions and analyze information collected from partners and beneficiaries ;
  • Perform other duties as required .

 

Key accountabilities  (not all-inclusive) :

Under the supervision of the head of the VAM / M & E section :

Monitoring and evaluation of activities :

  • Participate in the collection of output and outcome data and produce analysis reports ;
  • Participate in training investigators for data collection ;
  • Support firms and / or consulting firms in the collection, analysis and reporting of PDM, Baseline, EFSA, Endline surveys ;
  • Provide support to sub-offices in the collection and processing of data ;
  • Provide technical support and advice for the creation, maintenance and analysis of monitoring and evaluation systems ;
  • In coordination with the nutrition section, monitor the transmission of data from activities supported by the ENDOS WFP
  • Core Program of the Ministry of Health ;
  • Analyze geographic models of food security and vulnerability by integrating primary food security data with other sources of GIS data ;
  • Conduct field missions and analyze information collected from partners and beneficiaries ;
  • Monitor the implementation of activities that are the subject of partnerships with the Government ;
  • Accompany the Ministry of Agriculture in joint monitoring missions of the agropastoral campaign and the monitoring of household food security in Burkina Faso ;
  • Perform other related duties as required .

Conditions :

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment ;
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs ;
  • Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country ;
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education .
